We’re excited to announce that we’ll be taking part in Shitbox Rally in October – driving a car worth $1000 or less from Melbourne to Townsville via Birdsville in Australia’s largest independently run fundraiser for Cancer Council Australia.
Our MD Justin will be driving the Carina car (affectionately called ‘CAR-T’). An announcement will come soon regarding exactly which car he will be driving.
The rally is a challenge to drive dodgy cars across Australia via some of the country’s toughest roads to raise money for cancer research. This incredible event has raised $18 million since the first rally in 2010. To participate, each team must raise a minimum of $5000. We want to raise $15,000. Go here to donate.
We have a series of fundraising events planned over the next six months, kicking off on Sunday, 14 April at Glynde Mitre 10 where Justin will be on tong sizzling sausages. We’ll also have a range of CAR-T inspired baked goods available. Another sausage sizzle will take place at Glenelg Coles on Saturday, 27 April.
Carina Biotech is participating to raise much-needed funds for Cancer Council Australia, but also to generate more awareness of the potential for CAR-T therapy to become a revolutionary new treatment option for people living with many forms of cancer.
We are developing world-first broad-spectrum CAR-T therapies for the treatment of a range of cancers including solid cancers, rare and/or paediatric cancers.
Stay tuned!
